Personal military papers of Johnson, a black airman from Illinois, who served with the Air Force in World War II and the Vietnam War. The collection includes Johnson's enlistment records, temporary duty orders, training certificates, and promotion certificates. A statement of personal history accompanies this collection giving such information as school, parent's name and birthdates, and employment history. There are also numerous photographs associated with this collection, they include individual portraits, photographs of Johnson doing office work in uniform, several shots in a tropical setting, and one of him receiving an award.
